This was the second Jamba All Natural Smoothie Mix that I tried (I also tried the Strawberries Wild smoothie), and I really liked it. Jamba All Natural Smoothies are pieces of frozen fruit and yogurt in different combinations and flavors. This is only the second combination that I’ve tried, but I plan on purchasing them again.
I think the frozen pouches are too sweet, when prepared as directed. The directions say to combine the mix with 1 cup of apple juice. For this smoothie, I mixed a 1/2 cup apple juice with 1/2 cup of water and two packed cups of fresh spinach. I made sure the spinach was blended well, before I dumped the Caribbean Passion mix in. It was perfect!
Taste - Caribbean Passion has a great island flavor too it, with mango, strawberry, and a hint of coconut.
Texture – This smoothie has a great, thick, smooth texture <- SO important to kids!
Add-ins – I was able to add two whole cups of fresh spinach to this smoothie, without losing the caribbean flavor!
- The directions on the package make a smoothie that is too sweet.
- I don’t know why these smoothie kits have added sugar. Fruit is already sweet, why add sugar as ingredient?
- Unless you have a super-blender (Vitamix, Blendtec), it can take a few minutes to blend these mixes right out of the freezer. I’m still using my Oster, so I let the smoothie mix thaw out on my counter for about 20 minutes before blending.
Mangos, Strawberries, Peaches, Water, Nonfat Yogurt, Passion Fruit Juice, Sugar. Contains less than 2% of ascorbic acid, modified corn starch, natural flavor, skim milk, steviol glycosides, xanthan gum.
I would give this smoothie 5 out of 5 stars.
Making smoothies is not hard, but these pouches are great to have on hand as quick and easy “starter kits”. They ensure that you always have ‘fresh’ fruit around, even between trips to the grocery store.
